A quiz roughly WOW besides why is it out of order.?

No, it isn't working for me either right now, but I own been wondering about the residence "tank" or "tanking". I am still new to WOW, and have gather that it has to do with player/characters, similar to the Paladin or Warrior, who are able to take greatly of damage and still hold up, protecting the more easily diluted spell-caster types in the game. But where on earth did it originate? Is it an acronym of some kind? Is it a moment ago another shortened computer lingo kind of word? Does it have mention to a military tank representing something heavily armoured? I had not run across that term before surrounded by gaming, until I started playing WOW. But, then I haven't done much online gaming either. Is it a adjectives term among online gamers? Do other types of games have players within them who use the term, or is it specific to WOW?
it came from a military container. tanks would go within with infantry and because of their size would take the brunt of adjectives attacks thus helping shield the more vulnerable infantry.

many other mmorpgs hold 'tanks' in them too. they are extremely essential to end hobby.
I'd assume "tank" comes from the actual tank. since the tank contained by game has to give somebody a lift most of the damage and they need more armor than other players. I don't deliberate it's just a wow term since other mmorpgs are similar. "Does it own reference to a military tank representing something heavily armoured? "

Correct.

It started out contained by MMOs adn pencil and paper RPGs, and has not long moved into offline video game RPGs due to their increasing customization of the party.
its used contained by many games the name in actual fact comes from the tank yeah literally because you see tanks getting shot at and yeah so it help yourself to up the point as a pain enduring tool there also ranged dps and melee the rest should be self explanatory close to crowd controld and etc.
