A cheapter alternative to McMaster-Carr?

Does anyone know of a catalog type store that's a cheaper alternative to McMaster-Carr? I'm looking for a specific type of metal product but I know McM-C charges double what it really costs and would love to find a similar catalog company that sells the same type of things but doesn't completely rip you off.

(And please don't say "They have metals at home depot or lowes")

Answer:
For tools, harbor freight is a cheap alternative.

For bulk metals, your best bet would be a local supplier or check on ebay. Believe it or not, people sell bulk metal on ebay for a relatively low price.

Regardless, it depends on what specific item you're looking for.
grainger.. they sell some good stuff... i know about mcmaster's they suck. grainger's sends you the stuff ontime. good luck sweety
I just ran across your question. Production Tool Supply, browse the catalog on-line. PTS supports local small distributors in areas all across the country helping them to compete with the big boys. www.pts-tools.com Hope this helps you. I am a little bias because I work at PTS, but I believe I can help you out.
