About skilled magician...again(yugioh)?
so are the spell counters on skilled dark magician activated?
or are the spell counters activated already and then they are attached to skilled dark magician? (meaning spell counters could be your opponents and yours)
also do spell counters take up magic and trap slots(meaning when he has three counters I can only set two magic and trap cards?
also how do i indicate that it has counters? (do i put magic card(s) over him?)
Answer:
Spell counters themselves are just markers. They are placed on Skilled Dark Magician once a Spell/Magic card has been played and will remain on Skilled Dark Magician until you use his effect. Spell counters are usually noted by a six-sided dice on top of Skilled Dark Magician and they do not take up Spell/Trap spaces.
Here's the official write up on Spell Counters from the Yu-Gi-Oh website:
WHAT'S A SPELL COUNTER?
A Spell Counter is just a marker of some kind. Coins, glass beads, dice, bottle caps, pretzels, hair clips, cotton balls, cufflinks, gold pieces-of-eight, leaves, bits of thread, stickers, and pen caps all work fine as Spell Counters.
A Spell Counter has no special powers or abilities. It's just a numerical counter on the card. You "count" Spell Counters; they don't "counter" anything.

The spell counters on it is not "Activated"
It gets the spell counters whenever you or your opponent activates a spell card.
Ex: Lets say your opponent activates Graceful charity. Your skilled magician get one counter. Then your opponent activates swords of revealing light. Another counter goes to your skilled magician. Your turn. You activate Mystical space typhoon on your opponent's Swords of revealing light. You get your 3rd counter and now you could use its effect of sacrificing it and getting the Dark Magician or Buster Blader(Depending on which Skilled Magician you have)
No the counters do not take up the magic and trap zone. They are just like on the Skilled Magician.
You could indicate it anyway you like. You could put the magic cards over it, use pebbles, use pieces of paper, remember it, etc. Hope I helped.
No you dont have to put anything, just remember, if any magic card is activated it gains a counter. max of 3, you can put coins or pebles on top of the card, and no counters dont use magic or trap spaces. if you get 3 counters on him, you can special summon your dark magician now.
