if you want a good beatdown dexk then you should atart off with some 4 star easy summon monsters (ex. indominabl fighter lei lei, chainsaw beetles, goblin attack force, and goblin elite force) there effect is that they switch to defense mode after they attack, but their attack are like 2300 so it'll be a good start.
The bad news for beatdown is Cyber Dragon, which is a superb anti-beatdown card, as there aren't any 4-star monsters without negative effects that can handle the thing, besides its being an easy answer to a rampant Berserk Gorilla or Skilled Dark Magician or Toon Gemini Elf.
The good news is that there are by now so many 4-star monsters with high attack and no negative effect that there's enough choice to make a themed beatdown. One that particularly interests me at the moment is one based on Normal monsters, with support cards such as Non-Spellcasting Area and Justi-Break. By now, many monster types have seen the release of enough cards to support a themed beatdown deck - Beasts, Insects, Spellcasters, etc.
