Anyone had problems using discounted Southern Calif tickets for Disneyland?

I am buying discounted SoCal tickets for out of town friends to use at Disneyland but I am worried they will get I.D.'ed at the gate and not be allowed in because they are not Sothern California residents. The terms and conditions on the ticket says I can purchase up to 8 tickets but I.D. is required. I know they I.D. ME for purchase--but has anyone ever seen anyone be I.D.'ed at the gate or seen someone be turned away and/or not let in when trying to use these type of tickets? I will NOT be with my friends the days they go to be able to show my Southern California proof of residency! Serious answers only please--but please help!!!

Answer:
If you have a voucher you need to exchange them at the ticketbooths the day you go. They will require ID when you exchange them that day. I think the tickets from CostCo are Vouchers but ones at places like Vons are not. You would have to read the ticket to see if it requires you to exchange it or not.

If you purchase them from Disneyland itself, they must be used on the day of purchase. So I do not think you could buy them in advance directly from Disneyland. Once you have an actual ticket, I have never seen them ID again at the gate.

This is for the SoCal offers such as the 2fer. If you are asking about the discounted Annual Passport for So Cal residents then they will require ID at the time the pass is processed, and only a person from Southern CA can get these passes.
It is my understanding that those using special discount tickets such as the Southern California Resident or Military discounts must show ID upon entry. Even if you were with your friends, since they are not SoCal residents they could be denied entry.
They will require proof of residency at the gate. Avoid the embarrassment of your friends being turned away, those tickets are for so cal residents, not others. It is a crap shoot, some cast members (Disney employees) will not ask for ID, others will. If they do Ask for identification and your friends do not have proof, they will ask them to go to the ticket boots and pay the difference. Nevertheless I hope they enjoy their trip.
